We are Strawman
We tried being someone else, but it didn't work.
We are a lead creative agency, with award winning creatives, world class client services, a corgi named Rufus, and the ability to find a creative solution to almost any problem.
We like: Dogs, cheese, a pint, music, and a challenge.
David Acton
Managing Director
About David
I have had a classic portfolio career, but the Strawman-relevant bits start in 1996 when I set up an e-commerce development company, one of the first in the UK. We took Linguaphone on-line and worked with a massive range of companies, including Argos, Barclays, Future Publishing, Bauer and RS Components throughout the dotcom boom. I have also had a software development business working with Shell, BP Amerada Hess, Barclays, Royal Bank of Canada, Hermes Fund Managers and a number of other large oil companies and financial services businesses.
Then for some strange reason I jointly founded an advertising agency in Stamford.

Jon Groom
Creative Director
About Jon
I’ve worked with some of the biggest brands in the world including LG, The British Army, Easyjet, BAT, HP and Renault winning awards and nominations from Cannes Lions, D&AD, BIMA and London International amongst others. I worked as a creative in London ad agencies including Publicis and Ogilvy for about ten years before setting up Cutter & Savage, a boutique agency in Farringdon. After a couple of years I decided that I wanted more green in my life and moved to the countryside, where I became one of the founders of Strawman.
What are you listening to?
The Hustle. I’ve had one section of the Hustle stuck in my head since 2008. I do not like the Hustle.

Rob Harrison
Strategy Director
About Rob
I’ve a wide range of marketing, media, product, M&A and business management experience spanning 30+ years that includes time spent client side as Global Marketing Director for Anjinomoto as well as heading up Razorfish Healthcare on the agency side of things. I’ve been very lucky in that I’ve always loved what I do for a living. As a big fan of the written and spoken word, of moving and still pictures, I still marvel at the affect both can have on people’s lives: be it listening to Nat King playing piano (remarkably playing was his first love, not his singing), to Richard Burton’s voice saying absolutely anything, to Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel upside down, to Leonard Rossiter encouraging people to drink Cinzano.
Hopefully not Blade Runner type 50 feet ads playing in the pouring rain, in some run down corner of town, while nobody gives a monkeys
